Old buildings, new uses
A lot of in-town commercial space is older masonry — mills, warehouses and storefronts converted into lofts, offices and restaurants. Those buildings often carry built-up or modified bitumen roofs with several layers underneath, parapet walls that need re-flashing, and drains that were never sized for today's storms. Before we price a new system on one of them, we core the roof to find out how many layers are already there and whether the insulation is wet.
Restaurants and mixed-use
Atlanta's restaurant corridors put grease exhaust on roofs that were never designed for it. Grease breaks down TPO and EPDM over time, so on restaurant and food-hall roofs we usually recommend Duro-Last PVC with grease containment at the fans.
Permits and access
Work inside the city limits is permitted through the City of Atlanta's Office of Buildings. Dense sites in Midtown and Downtown also mean crane timing, street-use coordination and tight staging — we plan those before the proposal, not after the contract.
